History of Firm

The architectural office of Rauschenbach, Casini, and Urban was established in 1960. Thirty nine years later, in 1999, the firm was incorporated as R.C.U. Architects and continues to provide quality architectural design services. Though the firm has diverse experience, design efforts are focused primarily in the civil and municipal fields. R.C.U. has become a notable and recognized architectural practice in the Northeast Ohio region.

R.C.U. Architects has a professional team that provides clients with innovative and affordable building solutions. Many of R.C.U.'s clients have worked with the firm on multiple projects. For example, R.C.U. has a 42 year relationship with Ohio Bell Telephone Company (Ameritech). R.C.U. has worked with Ohio Bell on over 150 projects, including preservation work on a registered Cleveland historical site. Many other companies, school boards, and industries have also returned to R.C.U. for office buildings, research facilities, assisted living health/medical centers, and theaters.

R.C.U. Architects, have designed a wide variety of building types. Many of the firm's projects directly benefit local communities. Included in the many projects are 21 police and fire departments, 17 major churches, 11 city halls with design award excellence, 8 senior high schools, 8 public libraries, 6 municipal service centers, and multiple recreational facilities. The Strongsville Recreation & Senior Complex was featured in the June 1999 issue of Athletic Business. Besides countless new construction, much of R.C.U.'s work involves major renovations, restorations, and additions. R.C.U. has vast experience with all types of architecture, whether a project involves modifying an existing structure or designing a new one.

R.C.U. has grown substantially since it was founded over 42 years ago. R.C.U. has earned a reputation for exceptional architecture, but the clients can share in those benefits as well. An outstanding recreational facility can attract residents of many different localities. This draws in revenue that directly benefits the city.

With the emergence of new computer and art technologies, each project's design and presentation have improved tremendously. In this age when architecture and construction are growing more complex each day, it's the character, integrity, experience, and skill at R.C.U. that sets the office apart. R.C.U. has been developing innovative design concepts and professional architectural documents for nearly a half-century. R.C.U. continues to be a firm that is strongly rooted in all points of fine architecture.
